| dod v1.3 | 09 July 2004 |
| The 1.3 patch was released on the 7th of july, with some various tweaks and new maps.
The new maps are :
dod_saints
dod_falaise
dod_sturm
dod_northbound
Two older maps have also been updated, dod_glider & dod_flugplatz.
This should spark a new interest in this already popular mod. |

| DoD 1.2 Patch released.. | 22 May 2004 |
| As most of you probably are aware by now, the long awaited 1.2 patch has been released. Although the new maps were not included yet, they will slowly be available to download though steam at a later date.
Most people downloaded the patch in about 6 mins (one of my clan members says he got it in under 30 seconds).
However, for me (and other gamers still on modems) it look just over an hour and 40 mins....
Anyway, Most regular DoD players agree that it's a vast improvement over 1.1 and finally i can actually kill someone with the garand. (look out you lpb's)

| There is an execlent review of the upcoming 1.2 patch, with lots of screenshots and stats about the tweaks and changes of the game. The reduction of the server cpu should hopefully have server providers pricing their DoD servers more in line with Counter-Strike servers now (we, will have to wait and see).

| 1.2 Dod patch draws near (or maybe not) | 18 May 2004 |
| There are many rumors appearing on the day of defeat official website as to the date of the 1.2 patch.
Most seem to hint at next week, although i won't be holding my breath i may tie a knot in my mouse lead :)
However, one thing i haven't found out yet is the size of the patch, and knowing my luck (being on a modem) it will be huge..
/me hopes for patch AND small download. (although one of of two won't be all bad)

| Attention Clan Leaders... | 14 May 2004 |
| After your clan has been approved for season III, you still need to do one more thing.
Go into the 'Clan control panel', and click on the 'League Entry/Exit' link, then follow the instructions.
Only after you do this can i assign your clan a Division. (should take you less than 30 seconds)

| The EDODL is now accepting signups for Season III.

Clans need at LEAST 6 players and a working IRC channel. Please make sure your clan can spare the time for an 8
week season. Depending on amount of signups (and the DOD 1.2 patch) we hope to get started in 2-3 weeks.
Currently there are three EDODL match servers up and running (try them out), they can be found at:

| League Map List | 12 February 2004 |
| Here is the suggested map list for this season. It is not 100% final, so unless there is a flood of reasons why a particular map shouldn't be played we will go with this....
Anzio, Avalanche, Chemille, Donner, Flugplatz, Jadg, Kalt, Meredert.
This will cover our week season, as we've tried to include the new maps as well as the tried and tested 'favourites'.
Any comments should be posted in the forums, as usual. |

| Well with 5 new seasons of all sorts of gaming in the offing here at far2cool.com I think there has been a timely launch of a new GSP (Game Server ISP) directory site for those clans who are looking for a new clan server to play those all-impotant matches on...
The [url="http://www.which-server.net">which-server.net[/url] website went online on Saturday morning and at this time there are ~30 companies currently listed on the site but with more and more due to join their ranks in the near future!
The're also looking for people willing to help them keep the site up to date and help out in general.

| Start date and Sign-ups | 04 February 2004 |
| At the moment there is no official start date to Season 3.
Please ignore any dates seen in the top right corner, until something to confirm it appears here.
(It was hoped that all the Far2cool Leagues would start at the same time, but that date is unrealistic for us at this time).

| The next EDODL season. | 31 January 2004 |
| Plans are now underway for the start of the next EDODL season.
At the moment we are currently reviewing the league structure, and the format for matches. (due to the shortfall of people willing to ref DOD games it has been suggested that the lower divisions play their matches without an EDODL ref in the server, either by using HLTV or recording demos).
Clans will also be encouraged to use their own servers, as long as both clans agree beforehand.
Anyone who would like to be an Admin or Ref for the EDODL, people pop into #far2cool.edodl

| We had hoped to be able to give clans a start date for the next EDODL season before it got too close to Christmas. Unfortually, with many people still having problems with STEAM and the lack of refs (for some reason people just don't want to help like they used to) we will have to pospone any start until next year. (OMG, Less than 2 months away...)
A number of clans have already signed up and have shown great interest and unless i'm otherwise informed i'll leave them approved until next season. If ANYONE wants to help out as a ref (or even an admin) for next year please let me know. It is only by the help of dedicated DOD players that any league survives.
Wonder if someone could make a ref-bot... hmmmm.

| Delay to start of season 3. | 18 September 2003 |
| Due to the amount of people who have yet to download / get working valve's new steam software, we have decided to delay the start of season 3. This delay might be for a week or two until most people have crossed over to the new system.
We will post further news soon. |
